Enhancements to existing features
Customer portal functionality is being made available independently of the Website app, so sales, accounting, and project users can offer portal access without enabling full website features. Website remains available for branding, custom pages, ecommerce, and advanced online quote experiences, while shared routing and language handling are moved into reusable foundations.

Task: https://www.odoo.com/web#id=30850&view_type=form&model=project.task&action=333&active_id=965&menu_id=4720 Purpose: Customer portal will be available for sale, account and project modules. Payment will be available if payment acquirers are installed. Having website installed still offers interesting opportunities: customization, header / footer customization, custom pages, front page for your enterprise, ... website module will be used for customization independently of having access to a customer portal. eCommerce and Online Quote will still depend on website as those are advanced website feature.
