The old multi-company default setting has been removed because it has not worked reliably for many years. Businesses should use the existing user-defined defaults feature instead, reducing confusion around company assignment on new records.

Multi_company.default was used to set the

a multi-company environment. It was broken
since at least 2009, and is redundant with
User-Defined Default.
